The Airport – a #suzcat poem

Breezily, I saunter through the airport
Suitcase in tow
In anticipation
My mouth is dry, my heart beats fast
Hardly a moment seems to pass

I see you first, in the distance searching for me
I start to smile like the proverbial Cheshire cat.
Suddenly, you see me and wave
Our eyes meet for the first time
For real
You smile as you approach me

You enfold me in your strong sunkissed arms
And hold me tight
We realise that this is where we belong
In each others arms
Waiting for this moment
Waiting for us.
